Milton Stanley Wells of Wallace, NC died on June 4, 2021 while at home. Born on March 24, 1943 in Pender County, he was the son of the late William David Wells, Sr and Myrtle Cleo New Wells of Pender County. He was predeceased by his wife - Catherine Parker Wells and his brother - Roy Lee Wells.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters - Wanda Wells and husband Bryan Miller of Raleigh, NC and Renee Wells of Wilmington, NC; sisters - Nina Wells of Chesapeake, VA and Charlotte Sawyer of Virginia Beach, VA; brother - William David "Billy" Wells, Jr. of San Diego, CA; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, and extended family members.
Milton loved being outdoors; hunting, fishing, farming, splitting firewood, and feeding the birds at dawn. Each year Milton would plant a garden big enough to supply family and friends with summer vegetables, homegrown blueberries and his prized heirloom cabbage collards. A visit from Milton often included a gift from the garden and his usual catch phrase of "No charge today."
Milton was a devoted and faithful Christian. His love for Christ gave him joy and contentment that sustained him. As a result, he was happily on-the-go every day, always with a positive attitude, and quick to offer a "thumbs up" to let you know his life was good.
A graveside visitation and service to celebrate his life is set for 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Peniel Church Cemetery in Willard, NC officiated by Reverend Bobby Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina, Lake Waccamaw, NC or Operation Second Chance of Germantown, MD.
