Peggy Jo (Kennedy) Fields

Peggy Jo Kennedy Fields, 76, of Teachey, NC, passed from her earthly life on March 3, 2023 while at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center of Wilmington.  Born on June 29, 1946, she is the daughter of the late Sam and Hazel Katherine Brown Kennedy.  Also preceding her in death are her husband--Donald Eugene Fields and siblings--Bobby Kennedy, Steve Kennedy, Johnny Ray Kennedy, Cathy Jones, and Patricia Wren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children--Donna Springfield and husband Ronald  of Teachey, Timmy Fields and wife Abby of Beulaville, and Kim Pridgen and husband Anthony of Harrells; grandchildren--Austin Fields of Beulaville, Kennedy Adams and husband Zack of Harrells, Justin Fields of Beulaville, Gracie Pridgen of Harrells, Olivia Springfield of Teachey, and Chloe Pridgen of Harrells; and brothers--D. W. Sumner of Beulaville and Randy Kennedy of Potters Hill.  

Mrs. Fields received her associate degree in accounting and worked for several years as an inventory control manager.  She was a sweet and caring lady who was always friendly and pleasant to everyone she encountered.  There was a fighting spirit in her that would never give in to health issues.  Her family was most important to her and she loved each one of them dearly.

A service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace.  Officiating will be Pastor Bobby Smith.  Family will greet friends at a visitation from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 in the funeral home and at other times at the home of Timmy and Abby Fields.  Interment will be in Pin Hook Cemetery on Highway 11, Teachey after the service.  Floral gifts are welcome or please consider a contribution, in Mrs. Fields memory, to Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center of Wilmington.
