Raymond Allen Teachey Jr.

Raymond Allen Teachey, Jr of Rose Hill, NC passed from his earthly life in the early afternoon of Sunday, January 30, 2022 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Born in New Hanover County on April 9, 1961, he is the son of Lynda Brinkley Hollingsworth and the late Raymond Allen Teachey, Sr. Also preceding him in death are a sister – Vickie Joy Teachey; paternal grandparents – Herbert R. and Janie Batchelor Teachey; and maternal grandparents – Buren Sr. and Elene Brinkley.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife – Marta Ramos Teachey of the home; mother – Lynda Brinkley Hollingsworth of Wallace; son – Nelson Jimenez and wife Leticia Lemus of Dalton (GA); step mother – Linda Aycock of Chinquapin; father-in-law – Sebastian Sanchez of Rose Hill; grandchildren – Jonathan Jimenez, Alexis Jimenez, Andres Chavarria; siblings – Sherry Lynn Teachey of Louisburg, Lynn McGee (JT) of Pelion (SC), Kirby Bolin (Suzanna) of Willard, and Carolyn Hull (James) of Lexington (SC); numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and Alicia Lemus and Agustin Lemus (parents of Leticia Lemus).

Allen worked the majority of his career in the textile industry at Lear Corporation (Guilford East) in Kenansville. He loved working at his home growing blueberries and flowers. Allen also enjoyed showing anyone and everyone around his “little farm”. He was a lifelong member of Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.

A graveside service to celebrate his life is set for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville. The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace. Floral remembrances are welcome, or the family invites memorial contributions to Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
