Regina Rae (Scott) Gregory

Regina Scott Gregory of Rose Hill, NC, passed from her earthly life on the evening of Thursday, July 6, 2023, while at home, after a period of declining health.  Born in Duplin County on February 13, 1964, she is the daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Jeanette Knowles Scott. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband—William Joseph Gregory; children—Kristy Scott Dail and husband Shane of Pin Hook, Billy Raymond Gregory and wife Britny of Warsaw, Heather Scott Carter and husband Shawn of Wallace, Joy Lanier Chadwick and husband Brandon of Wallace,Stacy Cooper and husband Will of Goldsboro, and Rosanna Gregory of Dunn; grandchildren—Sarah Brown, Giana Carter, Austin Shoe, Brady Chadwick, Maci Chadwick, Elijah Gregory, Carmen Cooper, D K Allinen, Shanley Dail, Haleigh Dail, Nicole Dail, Chase Dail, Calvin Dail, and Evan Hedgpeth; great grandchildren—Shawn Henry, Haven, Zylen, Bentley, and Jace; siblings—Amy Hedgpeth and husband David of Magnolia,  Walter Ray Scott and wife Sharon of Teachey, Randy Scott and wife Anne of Teachey; aunt--Theo Knowles Batts and husband Claiborn; and best friend—Marilyn Drinkwater of Greenevers.

Mrs. Gregory was a strong willed lady who was independent and sassy and also knew the meaning of hard work during her life.  She grew up as a “daddy’s girl” and loved Elvis Presley.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren were the absolute loves of her life, though, along with the rest of her large family.

A service to celebrate her life is set for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services of Wallace.  Family will receive friends on Monday night, July 10, 2023 in the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Riverview Memorial Park after the funeral service.
