Mrs. Carter spent many years working as a teacher assistant in the Head Start program. She was dedicated to her church--the Wells Chapel Baptist Church in the Harrells area of Sampson County where she attended worship services regularly and was active on many committees. Her church was a very important part of her life and her children grew up attending church with her. One of her greater pleasures in life was spending time out doors taking care of her lawn and flowers. The love of her family was paramount in her life.
A graveside service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Wells Chapel Baptist Church cemetery officiated by the Reverend Barry Wells. The family will greet friends at a visitation in the church at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Rather than floral arrangements, family requests that contributions be considered to the Wells Chapel Baptist Church cemetery fund. Pall bearers are Kirby Smith, Jim Boney, Joe Don Boney, Glenn Page, Chad Burgess, and Channing Burgess. Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Carter family.
