Richard Carl Ginn, Jr. of LaGrange, NC departed his earthly life during the early morning hours of Monday, November 30, 2020 while in the hospital at Johnson Healthcare in Clayton, NC. He is the son of Linda Batts Norris and the late Richard Carl Ginn, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother--Michael Allen Ginn.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother--Linda Batts Norris of Clinton; girl friend--Debbie Carlyle of Clayton; sister--Elizabeth Dianne "Cindy" Meyer and husband Lloyd Cliffton of Warsaw; daughter--Erica Ginn of Mount Olive; and nephew--Michael Allen Meyer of Warsaw.
Rick, the name by which Mr. Ginn was known, was the owner and operator of a trucking company, that he loved, in the Mount Olive area for most of his life. During more recent years, he operated a company which did lawn maintenance services. During younger years, he enjoyed building race cars for drag strip racing. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and getting dressed to go out dancing. The Christmas season always gave him much pleasure in observing the decorations he so much adored.
The family will greet friends at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Devotional Gardens Mausoleum in Warsaw followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm. It is requested that, rather than floral arrangements, contributions be considered to Shriners Healthcare for Children--12502 USF Pine Drive--Tampa, Florida 33612. Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Ginn family.
