Roland Gail Henderson, 81, of Teachey departed his earthly life for his home in heaven during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 2, 2021, while at home. Born on March 14, 1940, he is the son of the late Roland Earl and Edith Graham Norris Henderson. Also preceding him in death is his brother--Marion Earl Henderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife--Rebecca Ratliff Henderson; sons--Guy Tracy Henderson and wife Lori of Willow Springs, Michael Roland Henderson and fiance Christi of Wallace; daughters--Anjanette Graham Henderson of Richmond (VA) and Jennifer Rebecca Ezzell and husband Johnny of Cary; brothers--Winston Henderson and wife Bundy of Wilmington, Samuel "Sam" Henderson and wife Carol of Festus (MO), Jessie Henderson and wife Charlotte of Jacksonville (NC); sisters--Emily Phipps and husband Ron of Faison, Janice Andrew of Vancouver (WA), and Barbara Travis and husband Ken of Newbern (TN);twenty-three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
After serving his country in the United States Army, Mr. Henderson worked in vacuum cleaner sales until retirement. They then moved to Teachey in 2012. He enjoyed football, crossword puzzles, seek and find puzzles, and Wheel of Fortune on TV.
A service to celebrate his life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021, in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Robert Holland. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be considered to the Community Christian Church of Bowden.
