Rose Elenor (Simpson) Rivenbark

Rose Elenor Simpson Rivenbark of Wallace, NC, passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home on the late afternoon of Tuesday, July 18, 2023 while at the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC.  Born on December 18, 1951, she is the daughter of the late Thomas Atkins and Ida Mae Brinson Simpson.  She is also preceded in death by siblings—Harold Simpson, Charlie Simpson, Johnnie Simpson, Margie Bass, Patricia Penny, and Ione Melton; and a grandson—Thomas Bryan Pate.

Left to cherish her memory are her children—Thomas Everette Pate of Goldsboro, Donna Pate Mobley and husband Derek of Wallace, and Timothy James “TJ” Pate of Wallace; the father of her children—Don Everette Pate; siblings—Joe Simpson and wife Sheila of Fayetteville, James Simpson of Fayetteville, Bobby Simpson and wife Mildred of Beulaville, Leon Simpson and wife Barbara of Richlands, Donnie Simpson and wife Shelby of Beulaville, and Brenda Taylor and husband Clifton of Beulaville.

Mrs. Rivenbark was born in Onslow County but later moved to Duplin County.  As a very family oriented person, she nurtured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in her very special loving way. It has been noted that she had a “special gift” for cleaning and passed this on to her children.  She enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music and was a true witness for her Lord in leading others to Christ through her life testimony.
