Vaughan Lynn Adams died suddenly on January 15th, 2023 surrounded by his immediate family. A true native of Raleigh, having lived and worked here all his life, Vaughan was preceded in death by his Mother Elizabeth Canady Nowell, Father Lynn Vaughan Adams, and Stepfather Jerry Nowell.
Vaughan was President and co-owner of Nowell’s Furniture in Cary for thirty-five years. His career then evolved to owner of Capital Insurance Agency and President of Medicare Insurance Solutions. He strived to educate people on acquiring the insurance that met their needs.
A graduate of Broughton High School and Campbell University, Vaughan was an accomplished drummer, playing in several different bands during his college career.
He was an active member of his church, serving as a leader of a Community Group and a member of a Men’s Bible Study. Various other memberships include Cary Jaycees, where he served as President for many years, Special Olympics Organization, NC Furniture Association, Raleigh Sports Club, Pool Leagues, and Corvette Clubs.
Vaughan was an avid Corvette collector owning 18 Corvettes over his lifetime. He had a passion for driving fast cars and truly missed his calling of being a NASCAR Race Driver.
Surviving Vaughan are his loving wife Anne Farrior Adams, daughters Meredith Adams Olski (Robert), Carla Adams Nance, Shannon Brooks Montgomery, and grandchildren Zoe and Sam Olski and Jackson Nance. Notwithstanding he loved his adorable sweet doggies, Bella, Benz, Coco, and Pippa.
A service celebrating his life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 549 North Blount St., Raleigh, NC on Thursday, January 26 at 2:00 PM. Family will greet guests after the service in the Northex.
